I cannot believe we only have around 8 weeks left until we meet this little guy in my belly!
Today was good news at the doctors; this little guy is growing well, my blood pressure is still good and everything is going the best it can be…all great news to my ears!
Here are some super cute pictures the ultrasound tech got of our little guy, I love it & I think he looks kind of like Jaymz did when he was born…what do you think?
The right side of his face is fuzzy and covered because his foot is right there.
This is his profile view…see what I mean by his foot being in his face? He is folded in half in there!

I cannot believe I have not even started on our baby’s room yet but I have some cute ideas. We were going to do a Lego Bedroom but I ran across this the other day and thought that The Very Hungry Caterpillar would also make a cute room and I can always do Legos for Jaymz or when this little guy is older. I cannot afford $100 for this Pottery Barn Kids version so I thought I would make a quilt looking something like this:
The Front and the Back

The blanket would not be a clean seam quilt but one of those shaggy blankets…my mom made one for Jaymz when he was born and I made one with my sister-in-laws when our niece Jersey was born and they are pretty easy. I think I have scraps for the green, white and blue and then all I would have to buy is the Eric Carle fabric which Brandon found online for a total of $35! That is a lot of money saved I can put elsewhere so I think it will be for the best!
Oh and for the mobile I was thinking of something like this I found on Pinterest but changing the circles to the fruit that the Hungry Caterpillar ate in the book. So I do not think there will not be as many items hanging.
We are also going to have an extra twin bed in the room (if it fits and looks okay) and I was thinking about having this cute little canopy over it but don’t ask what blankets are going on this bed because I am not sure yet.
What do you think so far, do you have any ideas for us?

This New Years Eve we stayed home with just the three of us and allowed Jaymz to stay up until after midnight.

We got take out…Chinese Food, which Jaymz loved! He also loved playing I mean eating with his chopsticks Papa got while he was in China this past summer!

We then played fun games together…the Car Matching Game and a few rounds of Candy Land. Jaymz loved playing Candy Land and he kept saying, “I am so glad Santa got this game for me!”

While playing games we ate tons of junk food…we each choose a treat and ate them until we were all sick or at least I was sick!

When it was close to midnight we got out the “cool Mama and Papa glasses” to drink from.
Time flew by and sooner than later it was time to make our toasts and ring in the new year with kisses for everyone!
It must have been a fun crazy night because we all slept in really late…even Jaymz woke up to come into our bed and cuddle which ended up with him falling back to sleep, so I was the 1st one up which made it possible to capture this super cute picture!

Another update from Christmas:
I had been seeing this cute idea all over the place and thought hey, I might do that next year, because I was not about to pay $30 for a book and stuffed elf…well early in December we visited our local Good Will store and saw an Elf on the Shelf book and elf still in its original packaging for only $7 so we decided why not start this year? I could not have not been more pleased with the deal we got!
Jaymz named our elf Lox and we were set for a month of fun and excitement to see were he would be throughout the month. Jaymz, my 3 year old asked for the 1st few days if he was really real or if he was just pretend and we kept insisting he is real which set in after a few days of him being around our house. I just really hope he stays believing for a few more years, because it has been too fun and I am not ready for it to stop!
Anyways, here is all the different places we found Lox throughout his months stay…we started a little late (on the 4th) but it was good because we did not have to come up with as many ideas to place him; we also forgot one day so there is one less spot than there was supposed to be. We ran into the issue of traveling back to Utah for the Holiday, but it ended up working nicely because Lox told Santa Clause were we would be.
We changed up the tradition a little by allowing Jaymz to touch his elf only Christmas Eve to say good bye, by giving him a hug and telling him he wants him to come back next year…hopefully it will be a fun tradition for years to come!

Here is an update from before Christmas…
We are lucky enough to have Bass Pro Shops just up the road from our home where they do free Santa pictures! It was great to get free pictures this year because we are on a strict budget and every little bit helps! Jaymz could not wait to see Santa to tell him what he wanted for Christmas this year…he ran up to him and before Santa could say hi or even ask what he would like, Jaymz was already telling him what he wanted. The list of things Jaymz asked Santa for were: Legos, a Transformer, and the Black Car from Cars 2 that drinks the Allinol gas.
The only new thing (from that week) was the Black Car from Cars 2, thank goodness we knew what he was talking about because he kept saying the “Black Car” and we kept forgetting and giving him this confused look which he then had to remind us it is the car from Cars 2, he drinks the Allinol gas, gets hurt, and we made him put it back at the store. I am so glad that he has a great memory, because both Brandon and I get what he was saying after he said he had to put it back at the store. Because when we were out doing a little last minute shopping and he saw this Black Car (which I really think is dark purple) so we let him carry it throughout the store but we never planned on buying it. Jaymz is usually good with putting things back since we let him look at toys often when we are out about then we put them back or give them to the cashier, but this time he was really sad, he said he would miss that car and that he really wanted it. So I guess he decided that Santa would bring him it since he wanted it so bad and we wouldn’t buy it.

I am truly sorry to announce that our amazing Grandpa Ranch (Peay) passed away last night (early this morning) from a heart attack. He and grandma have been such an inspiration to us; I want to have the love they have had through their many years of marriage when I am older.
Grandpa was such a wonderful man; he is the man who taught my father-in-law to be kind, gentle, and sweet to everyone especially their wives (even if they do not agree). Who in turn taught my husband to be the same way. He showed me if you have passion for something then do it…he loved the ranch and taught all of his children and grandchildren to love it as well, even if it was in a different way. Everyone I know loves to spend time at the Peay Family Ranch but I think everyone loves it in different ways, and one of them was seeing Grandpa’s smiling face when we were there. I especially enjoyed seeing his smile every morning when I woke up, as he laughed and joked that all the work had already been done because I slept in too late…which was probably true. I fear that every time we visit the ranch now my heart is going to ache because we will not have him there; I know time will heal as we live our lives, but this weekend of remembrance at the ranch is going to be a tough one not seeing him and only remembering him.
I am so grateful I have been able to get to know Grandpa Peay aka Grandpa Ranch. I know how wonderful he is and he will surely be missed…we love you very much!

We decided to spend the week before Christmas and the weekend of Christmas in Utah at the beginning of December. We had planned on staying here in Denver but Brandon’s Grandpa’s 80th Birthday Party was just a few days before Christmas and we felt that we really needed to be there.
We packed up the weekend before Christmas and went on our way to Utah, thank goodness we drove out over that weekend and not the day before the party because we had great sunny weather to drive in, instead of a big snow storm that came through.
Brandon worked from his dad’s house (where we stayed) through the week so he did not have to take any days off of work. I really love how he can do that because we now can save up his vacation days for when the baby comes!
We really just hung out with Brandon’s dad and ran a few last minute Christmas errands while being there until Tuesday the 20th. That is when we had Brandon’s Grandpa’s Birthday Party and after the birthday party was the annual Christmas party (just moved from Christmas Eve cause everyone was already together). It was a wonderful evening filled with food, games and most importantly people we love!

We were going to visit my cousin Stacy and her family on Thursday but her daughter was sick so we decided that we would have to see them another time. I am very sad we were unable to visit them, but I know there will be another time to visit. We ended up seeing some of our old neighbors that Jaymz has been missing since we moved. We made candy houses and just played the day and evening away!

Friday was an unexpected event for us, we had planned on just laying around the house relaxing, but Brandon’s Great Aunt Beverly passed away so we decided to drive out to the Peay Family Ranch with Brandon’s Dad to go to the burial and the luncheon to show our support for the family. This was the 1st death for Jaymz so we explained the best we could to him about what had happened. Jaymz did great with being very kind, obedient, and patient while being the only child there. He was sad when we had to leave the ranch that evening because he thought we were going to be spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa Ranch’s as we usually we do when we drive out all the way out there.

Christmas Eve was great as well, we ran around finishing up our last errands before places closed. We then came home to Brandon’s Dad’s to make cookies for Santa and get ready for dinner at Brandon’s Mom’s. We had a wonderful dinner at Brandon’s Mom’s which Brandon’s little sister Deanna had prepared (her 1st traditional holiday dinner) and it was great! We stayed there until after Santa came to give us our oranges in bed (a tradition Brandon has had since he has little, the only thing is that we all pile or squish into one bed now). We came back to Brandon’s Dad’s, said goodbye to Lox, set out Santa’s cookies and went to bed.

On Christmas morning we got up and saw what Santa had brought and while the boys played I made German Pancakes for breakfast. We then ran around seeing family and having a wonderful busy day as usual…Brandon’s Mom’s, back to Brandon’s Dad’s, to lunch, and back to Brandon’s Dad’s to get ready for Christmas Dinner at the Lundberg’s. Christmas dinner at my Grandma and Grandpa Lundberg’s is always great…we always get there in the late afternoon and spend the rest of our day there. It was a small get together this year but still amazing. I am also very thankful to my Aunt Lynda who was not going to come down this year because she spent the day with her daughter (my cousin Stacy) creating new traditions but wanted to still see and visit us, so she came down after dinner just to visit and exchange gifts.

The next morning we packed up the car and came home. I am glad we left in the morning cause my body was tired and we kept having to stop and take breaks which made it a long travel day. We were again blessed with great weather to drive in and to have such a wonderful Christmas in Utah.

Oh the joys of finally unpacking are here cause we finally got our new carpet just before Christmas! Brandon and Jaymz did the hard work of pulling up the old carpet so we would not have to pay for removal and haul away and and also so Brandon could paint the floor with Kilz so there would not be any residual pet odor.
I love the new carpet it looks awesome and it feels so soft on our feet…although I still wish we would not have had to deal with it in the 1st place, it has turned out to be a wonderful improvement for our little home!
*Oh and I need to make a shout out to Brandon’s co-worker and friend Ryan for helping him move all of our furniture in and out of both rooms so we did not have to pay for that either…Thank You Very Much!
Since we have been so unorganized from moving, our New Years resolution has been to get organized and stay organized. So from our Christmas money we received this year we went and got Jaymz a bookshelf for his room and storage shelves in our shed…I know great presents right?!?! Well we love them and it has already started to help! As we have been unpacking we have also been organizing. I took a picture of the shelf in Jaymz’s room and also of the before of our shed (because it is not finished yet I will post one later of the after) of our 1st two organizing projects. This is the year of projects to get unpacked and organized!
So now that the house is getting in order I can blog again. The computer was set up temporarily when we got here, but once the carpet project was started it was blocked, taken down, and just put all over the house and never plugged in or set up (I guess it is time for a laptop)! It is now in its home and back up and running and I am so happy, so please welcome me back!
